Hi all. Sad but true I have a sad news to talk about. It's a difficult choice and one we have been trying to avoid for a many months now. Unfortunately, things have progressed to the point where action is needed and hard decisions have needed to be made. When I took over the role as station manager over BootyIsland-Radio I was sure we should make it work, it all looked like we was going to get it on it's feet and DJ's was comming in and we had a fun time. The two days we had launch party with DJ's on all the time was fun and awesome. We had got many gifts from FLS (developers of PotBS) that we gave away under the launch party. But under the coming months it's haven't become better and growing.
BootyIsland-Radio started up from the start for the players of Pirates Of The Burning Sea to have a place where they could pick up the latest news, information and discussion on all things PotBS while kicking back and enjoying good music and talented broadcasters in a fun and vibrant community of gamers. BIR was launched months ahead of the expected retail launch of PotBS in an effort to bring in listeners, DJ's and support prior to the game was going great.
Under the time of buildning up period we had change the stations manager and I am the one that was the last in the row to try my ideas how to make it work. I think even that we closing it down now that we made a good job, all of us. Managers and DJ's. We tried hard and got all of you that was tuned in and played the game to have a good time and that is whats counts. But it wasn't enough, so I feel sad to have to take this step and close the station down but we don't see atm that we have to many choice. Who knows in the future we maybe will be back, but that isn't something we can say today. We have to wait and see. Sadly, the reality is not as good as we had hoped for. Listener numbers are not growing, few DJ's have join the station and some left. But we have come to the day when we need to make a choice that was hard to me and many more. We have all a sad week and as you can see on the schedule on BIR it's jukebox slots all over but if you look on TGR Schedule you can find all of us there and we are not going to be far away. Even if we need to close down BIR we will still keep on doing our shows, we just doing it from a other place. The DJ's you have been listen on and love is not leaving GRN we are moving to TGR (Total Gaming Radio ) and some of us will still talk about POTBS and we will still have fun. So tune in to us all over there instead.
So last day for broadcast is sunday the 15th of June 2008.
Thank you for your time and understanding. TaxiGirl |
